Link labels and ordering: make the next click obvious

Organize a public page around reader needs instead of internal project names.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

This guide is educational, not personalized financial, legal or security advice. A checklist reduces avoidable mistakes; it cannot make a transaction risk-free.

The idea in plain English

A link label should describe the destination or action in words a new visitor understands. “Read the wallet-safety checklist” provides more context than “Click here” or an unexplained acronym. Good ordering puts the most relevant current task near the top while leaving secondary resources easy to find.

The distinction that matters

Revisit the page when priorities change. Old event links, expired campaigns and renamed products can create confusion. Check the destination on mobile and make external account or financial transitions explicit. A helpful page reduces uncertainty rather than trying to maximize every possible click.

A practical example

A fictional builder moves a completed event sign-up below a current project guide and renames “Portal” to “Open the community discussion.” The change does not add a feature, but it makes the page more useful to someone arriving for the first time.

Try this without moving money

  • Read each link label without looking at its destination and predict where it goes.
  • Put the primary reader task first.
  • Check for expired pages, redirects and account requirements.

A mistake to avoid

Do not disguise a referral, purchase page or account connection as a neutral educational article.

Before you act

Good onboarding gives people a useful next step without financial pressure. Keep personal information out of public profiles unless you deliberately choose to share it. The StonkBuilder Community page describes reviewed points, not redeemable money. Public product descriptions were consulted; private creator/editor/account flows were not tested for this library.

A MOMENT TO REFLECT

Check your understanding.

What is a strong link label?

A correct answer records local learning progress, not a qualification or proof of financial readiness.
